Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has strongly condemned killing of civilians in Shopian and said the blood of innocents is being shed. He paid tribute to slain Shopian militants and youth and said that blood of innocents will never go in vain and “will be avenged accordingly”.

“The pro-freedom youth are being killed mercilessly for the past twenty days. The people of Hajin are also being beaten up while the properties are being destroyed,” LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to news agency GNS quoted outfit chief Mehmood Shah as saying. Shah supported the protest call by Hurriyat leaders and said that “Modi government is upset with the never-ending accomplishments of freedom fighters”. “The Indian Army thrives upon terrorism as its modus operandi and continues to kill innocents by adopting it as state policy,” he said. Lashkar chief added,

“It is the crucial moment. The leaders must take appropriate measures to bridge trust between the nation and global community. Proactive steps must be taken so as to expose the Indian terrorism to the world. The freedom fighters will continue to observe their duty.” (KNO)
